Location
Mother nature meant it good with Sevelen. Thus our village is surrounded by a large and varied local recreation area. On the west side rises the Sevelerberg, which attracts many wanderer, bikers, nature lovers or mushroom collectors with its ravines and glacier mills, innumerable romantic ways, mysterious forest sections and open meadows. In the east and the south of the village the Rhine level with forests, creeks and channels spreads a paradies for walkers, inline skaters, bikers, ornithologists, angler, etc.. In the north, with the hamlets Rans and Oberraefis, lie expanded agriculture surfaces, which are likewise opened with innumerable ways. In the middle by Oberraefis the border leads to Buchs the center of the region Werdenberg.

The region Werdenberg is located at the east border of Switzerland in the St. Gall Rhine Valley and consists of the political municipalities Sennwald (Fruemsen, Haag, Salez, Sax and Sennwald), Gams, Grabs, Buchs, Sevelen and Wartau (Azmoos, Trübbach, Weite, Oberschan and Malans).

Between Trübbach and Sennwald, Werdenberg at the Rhine practically borders to the Principality of Liechtenstein. In the canton  St. Gall we border to the regions Rhine Valley, Sarganserland and Toggenburg.
